Stuff we LOVE from our registry!!

Making a baby registry is one of the hardest things I have ever tried to accomplish… seriously. Maybe even harder than actually giving birth to my kid.

There is so much to think about – What do you actually need? Will you even use it? What do you want other people to buy instead of purchasing yourself? Where are you going to put everything?

Who knew making a wish list could take so much time and effort?

I spent hours upon hours reading blog posts and doing research on necessary baby items. I asked friends who had already had babies what they liked and disliked and what they wish they would have asked for. I even asked my doctor one time what he thought! His response – “We didn’t have baby registries back in my day!”

While the advice from friends and research was helpful, I realized that everyone has different wants and needs. Ultimately, in the end, you put on your registry whatever you find, and you figure out later what was a good item to include, and what you could have done without.

That being said, I thought I would share a few things that my husband and I (mostly me) love. We are almost two months in with our little love, and are thankful every day for the baby showers that were held for us and the gifts we brought home from each of them. We have the best family and friends that helped us be as prepared as possible for our baby’s arrival. Financially, it is amazing how much money everyone saved us by their purchases. A $20 – $50 gift may not seem like much to each individual buyer, but certainly adds up.

Check it out!

We’ll start with my favorite – the 3 Tier Organizing Cart. If you’re doing research on building a registry, you have seen this on EVERY page, I’m sure of it. This cart is perfect for… well, everything. (I also have one in my classroom.).

We use ours to organize items needed for changing (diapers, wipes, butt paste), medicines and grooming kits, and small extras (pacifiers, pacifier wipes, more butt paste). I have seen other moms use this cart as a breast pump station, which is genius. So genius, I might get another cart and do the same!

This cart comes in SO many colors, so you’re sure to find one that matches your nursery or home decor.

Speaking of a changing station, on the top of ours is this Wipe Dispenser with a weighted plate, which has been a complete game changer for us. All the wipes come in those plastic bags with the tops you peel back, and it’s only a matter of time before you rip that top off completely. Once you do that, it’s a race against the clock to use those wipes before they dry up.

This dispenser keeps the wipes wet, is easy to reload, and the weighted plate makes the next wipe simple to grab. I’m also a fan of the little window, which lets us know we’re about to run out.

Okay, this next one has been great, for me specifically, because I have longer fingernails. The Diaper Cream Spatula makes it easy for me to spread on the butt paste without getting cream, and other stuff, under my nails.

My husband, who doesn’t have long fingernails, also loves it because, well, it’s just more hygienic.

This particular pack that we got comes with a tiny, travel sized spatula with a case. This is he one we keep in the diaper bag, so that even on the go, we don’t have to touch the yucky stuff with our fingers!

I like things organized. These Drawer Organizers have made it simple to keep those little clothes separate and easy to find. Especially the tiny little socks!

There are videos everywhere (especially on Tin Tok) that show you how you can fold the clothes in a way that makes even more room AND displays them in a way that you can see the designs.

This particular pack comes with 2 sets (12 total pieces) and I just used the extra for my own drawers.

These bottles are life. More specifically, this Tommee Tippee set is perfection. The set comes with 2 smaller bottles and 3 larger ones, as well as discs that help turn the lids into a travel bottle or jar.

I use the larger ones with the travel lids for storing milk in the fridge for my husband to use when I can’t breast feed. Or to pack some milk in our cooler when we’re traveling or going to a place I can’t easily breastfeed.

These bottles are shaped in a way that’s easy to hold and easy to clean! LOVE THESE!

Lastly, do not be afraid/ashamed to share your registry details. I posted mine to Facebook and lots of people outside of who we invited to the baby shower were able to purchase something if they wanted! This was great for family that lives far away, or friends of the family (or your partner’s family) that you don’t know really well, but they’re kind and want to help out.

I hope that as you are creating your baby registry you find a way to relax. While it can be stressful, you have to remind yourself that it’s mostly just stuff. Most of it you and your baby can live without. And, if you find that you really need something, just buy it as soon as you think about it.

If you don’t already have Amazon Prime, you need it now. As a new parent (or a parent again) you will constantly need something and Amazon likely has it. Prime just ensures that you get it FAST! Sign up Give the Gift of Amazon Prime” target=”_blank”>here!
